The Department of Philosophy was established on the basis of the University Rector\u2019s Order No. 01-372 dated October 3, 2024, \u201cOn optimizing the structural units of the university and further improving their activities.\u201d According to this order, three departments operating within the Faculty of Social Sciences \u2014 \u201cPhilosophy and Spirituality,\u201d \u201cPhilosophy and Logic,\u201d and \u201cEthics and Aesthetics\u201d \u2014 were merged into a single department named \u201cPhilosophy.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Department of Philosophy is one of the core departments responsible for training qualified bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s graduates with in-depth knowledge and skills aimed at educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, forming a sense of civic responsibility, and equipping them with foreign language skills to communicate Uzbekistan\u2019s social, spiritual, and political reforms to various segments of society, serving as moral role models for youth.<\/p>\n
In the current academic year, 410 bachelor\u2019s students are enrolled in the Department of Philosophy in the programs \u201cPhilosophy (by fields),\u201d \u201cPhilosophy (System Analysis),\u201d \u201cApplied Ethics,\u201d and \u201cPhilosophy\u201d (223 full-time, 120 part-time, and 60 distance learning), along with 21 master\u2019s students.<\/p>\n
In the 2025\/2026 academic year, the department employs 34 full-time faculty members and 17 part-time instructors, including 9 Doctors of Science, around 5 Candidates of Science, and 10 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD). In the previous academic year, 15 foreign professors were involved in the teaching process. In addition, the department has 6 doctoral students, 1 targeted doctoral student, and 18 independent researchers.<\/p>\n
Over the past 4 years, the department\u2019s faculty and researchers have published more than 250 scientific works, including 8 textbooks, 15 teaching manuals, 10 monographs, and over 200 articles in leading national and international scientific journals.<\/p>\n
Currently, cooperation memoranda have been signed with the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, the Ministry of Defense, the Youth Affairs Agency, and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n
The department operates several clubs, including the \u201cDebate Club,\u201d \u201cYoung Book Lovers,\u201d and \u201cCreative Youth Club,\u201d which play an important role in strengthening students\u2019 theoretical knowledge with practical skills.<\/p>\n
Currently, the department is headed by PhD in Philosophy A.
