\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0On September<\/strong> 25, 2014, the Council of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek established the Department of Information Security<\/strong>. On May 25, 2016, the Departments of Computing Technologies and Information Systems and Information Security merged into one department called Mathematical Modeling and Cryptanalysis<\/strong>.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0By Resolution<\/strong> No. 2 of the Uzbek State University Council dated September 26, 2018, the Department of Information Security<\/strong> was reorganized.
\nThe heads of the Department of Information Security<\/strong> in different years were: in 2014-2016, Associate Professor G.U. Juraev, in 2016-2018, Professor P.D. Aloev, in 2018-2020, Associate Professor F.N. Ibragimov, in 2020-2023, Professor G.U. Juraev.
\nFrom May 4, 2023 to the present, the head of the Department of Information Security is Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Sh.T. Boltaev.
\nThe faculty of the Department of Information Security theory and practical specialists with modern knowledge and skills in the field of information security, promotes further expansion and development of international cooperation, and enhances the university’s prestige in the republic and internationally through research work in such modern areas as information security, cryptography, cybersecurity, information systems protection, and computer forensics.
\nThis educational institution makes a significant contribution to strengthening the information security ecosystem of our country through the educational and scientific laboratories “Cybersecurity<\/strong>” and “Computer Networks<\/strong>“, modern software tools and international cooperation projects aimed at developing not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills.<\/p>\n

Based on close cooperation between higher education institutions, research centers, and areas of practice, the Department of Information Security trains specialists in the following areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • BSc in 60610200- Information security, 60611200- Cybersecurity;<\/li>\n
  • MSc in 70610301- cryptography and cryptanalysis,<\/li>\n
  • 70610302- Information security;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    PhD and DSc in -05.01.05-Methods and Means of Information Protection. Information and Cybersecurity\u00bb, 05.01.02- Systems analysis, management and information processing.
    \nThe department employs qualified teachers in the fundamentals of cybersecurity, computer networks, mathematical foundations of cryptology, web application security, cryptographic methods, cybersecurity, elements of cryptanalysis, blockchain technology, cryptographic protocols, discrete mathematics and mathematical logic, cyber law and cybernetics, applied cryptography, and teaches specialized disciplines such as modern cryptography.
    \nThe faculty of the department has created textbooks and teaching aids for these disciplines, which are now used in a number of higher educational institutions of the republic.<\/p>\n
