Lectures were given in this department on theoretical mechanics, fundamentals of celestial mechanics, theory of elasticity, hydromechanics, field theory, and other subjects. By 1936, the Department of Mechanics had attained the status of a specialist training department and began training specialists in theoretical mechanics, the theory of elasticity and plasticity, and hydromechanics. During this period, the activities of the Department of Mechanics were aimed at providing personnel for the departments of theoretical mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics of the new higher educational institutions established on the basis of the university (now the National University of Uzbekistan) and the newly established technical higher educational institutions at that time. As a result, graduates of

the Department of Mechanics made up the majority of the staff of the above-mentioned departments of many technical higher educational institutions in Tashkent (Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers, Tashkent Institute of Automobile and Roads, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Reclamation, and others). The beginning and development of scientific research in the field of theoretical mechanics in Uzbekistan is associated with the name of

M.T. Abutaliev E.B. and prof. Soatov E.U. at the Tashkent Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
In connection with the significant development of scientific research on the theory of elasticity and hydromechanics at the Department of National Economy and University Mechanics, a new Department of Mechanics of Connected Environments (TMM) was established in 1956. The initiator of the establishment of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the first head of the department was academician M.T. Urozbaev, who is known not only in the republic but also in the former Soviet Union, and is considered one of the great mechanical scientists who made a great contribution to the development of science and higher education in our republic. M.T. Urozbaev’s dynamic theory of seismic stability of hydroelastic systems was of particular importance.
Since the establishment of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in the activities of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the university, in addition to training teaching staff for higher educational institutions, more attention has been paid to training personnel for the Academy of Sciences of our republic and a number of design institutes (SANIIRI, Hydroingeo, UzGiprovodkhoz, etc.). More than 40 of the personnel trained by the Department of Mechanical Engineering have successfully defended their doctoral dissertations. 8 of them (Abutaliev F.B., Bondarenko B.A., Filatov A.N., Buriev T., Fayzullaev J.F., Buzin E.I., Muborakov Y., Rashidov T.) became academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic.
Graduates of the Department of Mechanics of the University have made a worthy contribution to the achievements in the field of higher education and sciences related to the development of mechanics, applied mathematics and computer technology in general in the republic. In particular, graduates of the Department of Mechanics have made a significant contribution to the development of scientific research at the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Strength of Structures (ISMS) of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Scientific Production Association “Cybernetics”.
A student of Academician M.T. Urozbayev, a graduate of the Department of TMM, a former graduate student of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics – Acad. T.R. Rashidov created the theory of seismodynamics of underground structures. Acad. Y.N. Muborakov developed the theory created by his teacher and applied it to shell-like underground structures, developed the theory of seismodynamics of underground structures with spatial structures based on the results of experiments conducted in laboratory and field conditions.
Another scientific school was created by a graduate of the Department of Mechanics, Acad. Fayzullaev J.F. He was the first to initiate scientific research on the mechanics of multiphase media in our republic, and many theoretical and practical issues related to the movement of two-phase fluids in pipelines were solved by him and his students.
One of our graduates, who worked in design and project organizations, Bolotin Yu.I., reached the rank of head of a large design bureau of defense importance and became a laureate of the USSR State Prize.
The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the University (in 1971-1997, the Faculties of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Mechanics) also trained personnel for neighboring Soviet republics, the People’s Republic of China, Vietnam, Laos and Latin American countries. Professors Arutunyan R.A., Andreev A.S., Tolok V., Shulgin D.F., Emikh V.N. and others (in Russia), prof. Bardzokas D. (Athens Polytechnic University), prof. Bykovtsev A.S. Prof. Sidikov M.N.).
In 2018, the name of the department was changed to the Department of “Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling” in accordance with the modern requirements of science and technology.
The Department of “Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling” trains specialists in three areas: theoretical mechanics, mechanics of deformable solids, and fluid and gas mechanics. Scientific research is conducted in these areas. Along with traditional areas, the department is developing mathematical and simulation modeling, robotics and mechatronics, orbital mechanics, and aerospace research. The department has been headed by Professor A.B. Akhmedov since 2018.

["post-15182","chair","type-chair","status-publish","hentry
["GET
