It was headed by Prof. S.N. Naumov from 1921 to 1930, and by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan I.P. Tsukervanik from 1931 to 1967. Academician Tsukervanik was a prominent scientist in the field of organic chemistry and founded a world-renowned scientific school focused on the alkylation and acylation of aromatic compounds and their derivatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Following I.P. Tsukervanik&#8217;s passing, the department was led by Prof. A.R. Abdurasuleva (1967\u20131984), Prof. Kh.Y. Yuldashev (1984\u20131992), Prof. K.N. Akhmedov (1992\u20132007), Assoc. Prof. Kh.S. Tadjimukhamedov (2007\u20132013), Ph.D. U.Ch. Akhmedov (2013\u20132015), and once again Assoc. Prof. Kh.S. Tadjimukhamedov (2015\u20132017).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">As of November 1, 2024, the department was renamed the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><b>&#8220;Department of Organic and Oil &amp; Gas Chemistry&#8221;<\/b>following the integration of the Oil and Gas programs. Currently, the department is chaired by Dr. T.S. Kholikov.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">The current faculty includes Prof. A.K. Abdushukurov, Assoc. Prof. Kh.S. Tadjimukhamedov, Prof. S.E. Nurmanov, Prof. Sh.S. Arslanov, Prof. M.R. Yuldasheva, Prof. T.S. Kholikov, Dr. N.N. Mamatkulov, Dr. A.S. Parmanov, Dr. O.Sh. Kodirov, Associate Professors G.Z. Azimova and F.A. Sapaev, and PhDs Ch.G. Yodgorov, Yu.U. Islomova, and J. Abdullaev.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">The faculty members are successors of the established scientific school.
