From 1971 to 1994, it functioned as the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. In 1994, it was renamed the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. Between 2000 and 2004, it operated as the Faculty of Computer Technologies, and in 2004 it was again renamed the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.<br \/>\nOver the years, the faculty was headed by R.Ya. Suncheleev (1971\u20131974), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan T.A. Azlarov (1974\u20131976 and 1988\u20131992), G.N. Salikhov (1976\u20131979), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan N.Yu. Satimov (1985\u20131987), M.M. Aripov (1987\u20131988), A.B. Begmatov (1980\u20131985 and 1992\u20131993), Kh.A. Muzafarov (2000\u20132003), and A.R. Khalmukhamedov (2003\u20132004).<br \/>\nThe Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Intelligent Technologies was established in accordance with Resolution No. 4358. of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 17, 2019, entitled \u201cOn Measures to Fundamentally Improve the System of Training Highly Qualified Personnel in High-Demand Specialties and to Develop the Scientific Potential of the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan for 2019\u20132023,\u201d and based on Order No. 01-299 of the Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan dated May 26, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The faculty consists of four departments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applied Mathematics and Computer Analysis<br \/>\n\u2022 Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence<br \/>\n\u2022 Information Security<br \/>\n\u2022 Computational Mathematics and Information Systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The faculty provides training for highly qualified specialists with deep fundamental and practical knowledge in mathematics, programming, and artificial intelligence in the fields of applied mathematics, computer technologies, and intelligent systems.<br \/>\nEducation is offered in full-time, evening, part-time, and special part-time modes. The faculty offers 4 undergraduate programs, 6 master\u2019s specializations, and 5 postgraduate (doctoral) specializations.<br \/>\nTo date, the faculty has trained approximately 10,000 highly qualified specialists who are successfully working in various sectors of the national economy. Faculty graduates are employed at prestigious international companies, including Google, Cisco Systems Inc., Amazon, EPAM Systems, DealerSocket, JetSmarter (USA), SAP SE (Germany), WesternGeco, Safenetpay (UK), Sensei Labs (Canada), Luxoft (Poland), Datasite Technology (Uzbekistan + UK), and others.<br \/>\nSo far, 5 students of the faculty have become recipients of the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and more than 10 students have received the Mirzo Ulugbek and Beruni scholarships.<br \/>\nThe faculty regularly organizes national and international scientific conferences. In particular, the conference \u201cMathematical Modeling and Computational Experiment\u201d was held in 1994; in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2021, the international conference \u201cCurrent Problems of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies \u2013 Al-Khwarizmi\u201d was organized; in 2020, the conference \u201cComputational Models and Technologies\u201d was held in cooperation with Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia); and in 2021, the international conference \u201cModern Mathematics and Its Applications\u201d was organized jointly with the V.A.Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the American publishing house Natural Sciences Publishing. More than 150 scientists from over 30 countries participated in these events. More than 100 selected papers were published in journals indexed in the Scopus international database.<br \/>\nIn addition to teaching at the faculty, professors and lecturers also deliver lectures at foreign universities, including Kazan Federal University, Novosibirsk State University, Tomsk State University (Russia), Adam Mickiewicz University and Lublin University (Poland), L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), M.
