At the beginning of the event, organized jointly by the Department of Foreign Language and Literature of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Kitob dunyosi,” poet Khosiyat Rustam, the contribution of the Albanian-American poet, literary critic, and publisher Gekyo Marinay to poetry and world literature was discussed.<\/p>\n

A group of professors, teachers, and young researchers from NUUz were awarded the Orpheus Texts Appreciation from Mundus Artium Press, a prestigious publishing house in the United States, for their services in the fields of literature and pedagogy by Gekyo Marinay.<\/p>\n

The meeting, held in a spirit of sincere dialogue, laid the foundation for further strengthening friendly relations with Uzbek and world literature and journalism.<\/p>\n

Gekyo Marinay was born in Albania in 1965. Since 2001, he has been the chairman of the Albanian-American Writers’ Union and currently a professor at the University of Texas. Gekyo Marinay is the director of Mundus Artium Press, editor of Mundus Artium, a magazine of world literature and art, and chairman of the committee for the international Jenima Prize.<\/p>\n
