Today, an international conference on the topic \u201cChingiz Aitmatov \u2013 the common pride of the Turkic world\u201d was held at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek in collaboration with the Writers\u2019 Union of Uzbekistan. As part of the conference, a presentation of Uzbek-language translations of the works of the famous writer Roza Aitmatov \u201cThe Letter Has Arrived\u201d and Qanibek Imonaliyev \u201cKyrgyznoma\u201d was organized.<\/p>\n

Also, the Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayyid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Duyshonkul Chotonov, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Kyrgyzstan Kanibek Imonaliev, Editor-in-Chief of the “Jahon Adabiyati” magazine Ahmadjon Meliboyev, Professor of the National University of Uzbekistan Hamidulla Boltaboev, and translator Nurali Qobul emphasized the place and significance of Chingiz Aitmatov’s work in the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples in their speeches.<\/p>\n

People’s Poet of Kyrgyzstan Markaboy Amatov and Director of the “Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan” Friendship Society Zuhriddin Isomiddonov also made speeches and spoke about initiatives aimed at strengthening literary and cultural ties between the two peoples.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, an initiative was put forward to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov’s birth on an international scale and to declare 2028 the “Year of Chingiz Aitmatov” by the UN.<\/p>\n
