An awareness-raising event was held at the National University of Uzbekistan dedicated to the content of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 11, 2026, No. URQ\u20131151, \u201cOn introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts aimed at improving liability for the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues, and potent substances.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event was attended by the First Vice-Rector of the university, Tunis Khojiyev, the university prevention inspector, heads of relevant departments, and representatives of Police Department No. 4 of the Almazar District.<\/p>\n
During the event, Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Maxfirat Ochilova, Judge of the Tashkent City Criminal Court Temur Qosimov, and Chairman of the Almazar District Criminal Court Abror Saidov delivered presentations on ongoing reforms in the country to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances, on the key innovations introduced by Law No. URQ\u20131151, and on the importance of this legal act in protecting public health and the future of young people.<\/p>\n
The meeting provided detailed information on ongoing reforms in combating drug-related crime, new legal mechanisms introduced by the law, and their significance for public health, the nation\u2019s gene pool, and youth education.<\/p>\n
The speakers particularly emphasized issues such as preventing the spread of synthetic drugs, effectively combating drug-related crimes on the internet, protecting young people from harmful habits, and improving legal awareness and culture. It was also noted that liability has been strengthened for the organization of drug laboratories, drug trafficking, and involving minors in such offenses.<\/p>\n
At the end of the event, experts answered in detail the questions raised by students and participants. It was emphasized that combating drug abuse is a pressing issue that requires cooperation not only from law enforcement agencies but also from educational institutions, parents, and the wider public.<\/p>\n
