Today, on May 13, representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz).
The main purpose of the visit was to support Uzbek higher education institutions in joining the ranks of the world’s most prestigious universities, particularly by promoting scientific research initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the university, along with heads of international departments, Vohidjon Topildiyev, Head of the Educational-Methodological Department, and Nargiza Nurmuxamedova, Head of the Department for the Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Staff.
The head of the delegation, Shozawa Hikaru, expressed great interest in the university’s ongoing scientific research, postgraduate and doctoral programs, existing scientific laboratories, collaboration with foreign organizations and research institutes, as well as the participation of university professors in international grant programs.
The delegation also met with the university’s rector, Inom Madjidov, during which the significance of future cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency in the development of global science and education was emphasized.
The delegation members familiarized themselves with the activities of the university’s “Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology” research laboratory.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further strengthen the existing cooperation with JICA and to implement new joint projects in the future.
