On April 15, 2020, an international online scientific-practical conference "Russian and foreign mass media: globalization and nationalism" was held. The conference was attended by experts from journalism universities in Moscow, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. It discussed the general tasks of the media in the current difficult conditions, the role and importance of the media in the fight against the coronovirus pandemic, and recommendations were developed .
Conference participants listened to the reports of the editor-in-chief of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper V. N. Sungorkin “Media in the era of the coronovirus: tectonic changes”, professor at the Department of Advertising and Public Communications of Leningrad State University named after A.S. Pushkin A. A. Malkevich "Transformation of the concept of "freedom of speech" on the Internet: current trends", Doctor of Political Sciences G. S. Sultanbaeva "Media Transformation: Digitalization and Adaptation to the Market", Ph.D. A.B. Ashimova "The Impact of Globalization on the Formation of Kazakhstan Television", Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor N.F. Muratova "Training issues for modern journalism in Uzbekistan: problems, solutions, tasks and prospects", head of the department "Theory and practice of media" of the same university, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor N.K. Toshpulatova "Adaptation of regional publications to the interactive and communicative processes of the media space".
The conference was watched by about 70 experts from various universities of the three participating countries in online video, and received answers to their questions via chat.
A collection of scientific articles on the topic of an international conference has been published. The collection was prepared for publication by the staff of the Department of Theory and Practice of Journalism of the Peoples‘ Friendship University of Russia. Collections will be sent to the authors after quarantine.
The collection includes a scientific article by Akhmadjon Meliboev, associate professor of the National University of Uzbekistan “The Spiritual Heritage of Chingiz Aytmatov”.
