International Children‘s Day was proposed and officially established by the Congress of the International Democratic Federation of Women in 1949. The first celebration of children‘s day was scheduled for June 1, 1950, at that time it was celebrated in 51 countries of the world. The UN reacted positively to initiative of the creators of the holiday and took an active part in ensuring the safe future of the young generation. In 1959, the countries of the world proposed the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and in 1989 the United Nations introduced States to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In the 21st century, children need protection and support no less than in the postwar years. The task of the holiday is to pay attention to the problems of children, especially for children left without parental care and forced to live in dysfunctional families.
Today, nature has presented a cool sunny day, so that on the first day of summer, children can carelessly, cheerfully and joyfully celebrate International Children‘s Day. On June 1, the Department of Social Work of NUU conducted a campaign in the park named after Mirzo Ulugbek, where she prepared entertainment for children. Students held various contests, games and gifts. Children received a lot of positive and kindness. May the sky above your head always be peaceful, and each new day be healthy, kind and interesting.
