Experts from the Czech Republic’s DEKONTA company at the National University of Uzbekistan
Experts from the Czech Republic’s DEKONTA company, in collaboration with the Green Climate Fund, UNDP, and Uzhydromet, participated in the development of the national adaptation plan for agriculture to climate change within the project “Advancing medium and long-term adaptation planning in Uzbekistan through a sector-based national adaptation plan.” The international experts from the Czech Republic’s DEKONTA company visited the National University of Uzbekistan on April 3, 2023.
The meeting was attended by member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists and member of the Czech Academy Lubosh Smutka, PhD in Agricultural Engineering Vladimir Krepl, PhD in Economics and gender specialist Inna Chabelkova, as well as representatives of the International Relations Department and professors of the Faculty of Biology at the National University of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the project experts provided detailed information on the methodology and concept of the adaptation plan for agriculture, as well as the work carried out within the project to date. Moreover, the participants discussed future collaborative research within the project “Advancing medium and long-term adaptation planning in Uzbekistan through a sector-based national adaptation plan” to be published in Scopus and Web of Science journals, and the development of academic mobility for professors in the fields of biology and agricultural economics.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to organize an online meeting in the coming days with the participation of project participants and specialists from the Faculty of Hydrometeorology at the National University of Uzbekistan.
