In 2021, in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 17, 2020 No. 4896 “On measures to further improve the activities of the hydrometeorological service of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the department will be opened at the National University of Uzbekistan starting from the 2021/2022 academic year was formed on the basis of the newly established Faculty of Hydrometeorology.
Currently, 2 doctors of science, 3 candidates of science, 1 intern-teacher are working in the department. Also, during the training process, Ph.D.-M.Ph.D. G. Mamdjanova and other scientists and specialists will participate.
Full-time and part-time education in the field of education 60520200 – Meteorology and climatology, 70520101 – Meteorology, climatology, agrometeorology (by type of activity), master’s specialty continuous education system was established in the department.
Graduates of the department work in the Hydrometeorological Service Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the system of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in the system of the Ministry of Water Management, in the system of the Ministry of Agriculture, in the Ministry of Defense, in the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, in the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in the network they provide services in research institutes.
The main educational courses of the department – introduction to meteorology and climatology, basics of geophysics, information measurement systems in meteorology, atmospheric physics, synoptic meteorology, dynamic meteorology, meteorological programming languages, Central Asian synoptic processes, remote sensing methods, climatology, meteorological calculations , meteorological forecasts, applied climatology, aviation meteorology, agrometeorology.
Currently, professors and teachers of the department in cooperation with the staff of the Research Institute of Hydrometeorology “No. ALM-202107009″ monitor dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena (strong wind, hailstorms, floods) based on the data of the COSMO-CA numerical model of weather forecasting creating a system and its mobile application”, in cooperation with the employees of the Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, under the number A-QX-2021-309 “Creating innovative agrotechnologies in the proportion of NPK compatible with global climate changes in cotton fertilization” are conducting research on the subject of a scientific project.
