Labor activity

Satimboy Rajapovich Polvonov was born in 1960 in the Khorezm region. He graduated from the Physics Department of Tashkent State University (now National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek)  in 1982. S. Polvonov has published over 200 scientific papers, including two monographs, five textbooks, and ten teaching aids. Under S.R. Polvonov’s supervision, one student won the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and one student won the State Scholarship named after Mirzo Ulugh Beg. Ten students took first and second place in the National Physics Olympiad among students.

S. Polvonov is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals “Vestnik NUUz” “Journal of Fundamental and Applied Research,” “Uzbek Journal of Modern Physics,” and “Journal of Fundamental and Applied Physics” of the Belarusian State University. S. R. Polvanov is the coordinator in Uzbekistan for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) project RER0049-ЕВТ2201691 – “Improving Educational and Training Programs in Nuclear and Radiation Safety.”

He also participates in the training of qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel in the country as a member of the Scientific Council for DSc. 0230.12.2019. FM. 33.01 at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Scientific Council for DSc. 0331.03.2022. T/FM. 10.04 at the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Research at the National Research University “TIIAME”, and the Scientific Council for DSc. 0227.02.2020. FM/T. 110.01 at the Physicotechnical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 S.R. Polvonov has been working as the Head of the Department of “Low Energy Physics” at the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan from 2016 to 2017, the Head of the Department of “Nuclear Physics” from 2017 to 2024, and the Head of the Department of “Nuclear Physics and Astronomy” from 2024 to the present.

In 2025, S.R. Polvonov was awarded the “Excellent Higher Education” badge.
