Today, January 10, Vice-Rector for International Relations Raima Shirinova and staff of the Department of Strategic Development and International Rankings visited the faculties of Journalism and Uzbek Philology, as well as Foreign Philology. During the meeting, they discussed in detail the possibilities of ensuring the university’s participation in international rankings, particularly in the “modern languages” area of QS subject Ranking.
It was also noted the need to develop strategic plans to promote the scientific and educational potential of these faculties at the international level, to increase the indicators of academic reputation and increase the number of publications. The representatives of the faculties are charged with the tasks of developing international scientific cooperation, improving the quality of research work. In addition, specific measures are defined for the realization of projects by the faculties that meet the requirements of international ratings.
In addition, it was noted that the official channel of the International Relations Department regularly publishes announcements about internships abroad, student exchange programs and international projects for students of the Uzbek State University.
The meeting also resulted in exchange of opinions on increasing the efficiency of work with foreign students and further improvement of this process. A number of proposals were discussed to strengthen interaction between faculties and departments, create favorable conditions for international students and strengthen cultural and academic integration.
