In connection with the 584th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi and the 542nd anniversary of the birth of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, a scientific and practical conference was held at the National University of Uzbekistan by the Department of Uzbek Literary Studies of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology.
The event was attended by the leadership of the university, professors and teachers, Turkish scientists, including the head of the Alisher Navoi Research Center of Ankara Bashkent University, Professor Abdurakhman Guzal, the director of the “Donishmand” Legal Consulting Center, Kamal Yavuz Ataman, poets and writers from the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, representatives of the general public, and students.
At the opening ceremony of the event, the Vice-Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Toshmatov, delivered a speech. Lectures were delivered by the Head of the Department of Uzbek Literary Studies, Professor Hamidulla Boltaboyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Minhojiddin Mirzo, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology Muzaffar Chorshanbiyev, Deputy Director of the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor Maksud Asadov, Senior Researcher of the Alisher Navoi State Museum of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Otabek Jurabayev, as well as a group of professors and teachers.
The scientific and practical conference on the topic “The Role of the Creative Heritage of Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur in Human Civilization” was held on the basis of the following sections:
• Alisher Navoi and classical literary traditions
• The contribution of two great geniuses to the development of Uzbek literature
• Theoretical issues of studying the works of Alisher Navoi and Babur
• Translation of the works of Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur into foreign languages and issues of literary influence
• Linguistic features of the works of Alisher Navoi and Babur
At the end of the conference, the First Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Minhojiddin Mirzo and Turkish guests presented the works of Hazrat Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur as a gift to the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. Certificates were awarded to the conference participants.
