On the occasion of March 3 – World Wildlife Day, a round table was held at the National University of Uzbekistan with the participation of relevant specialists.

Sherzod Khalillayev, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology, delivered a lecture and provided detailed information to the attendees about endangered species of wild animals and plants, and the culture of conserving and using wildlife.

The round table continued in a dialogue format. Students received detailed answers to their questions, and students studying in the fields of biology and ecology expressed reasonable proposals and initiatives.

For information, on December 20, 2013, the United Nations General Assembly, by its resolution, declared March 3 as “World Wildlife Day” in order to raise public awareness of wild flora and fauna. The emergence of such a universal holiday is directly related to the awareness of the need to preserve the biodiversity of our planet.
