Respect for women – respect for the nation

A solemn event titled “Respect for Women” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day. The event was attended by the university’s leadership, vice-rectors, faculty deans, staff, professors, and students.

At the beginning of the event, the holiday greetings of the university rector Inom Madjidov were read out. He emphasized the invaluable contribution of female scientists and professors to the growth of the university’s potential and prestige in the international arena. Deep gratitude was expressed to the courageous women working in an important and strategic sphere – the education system.

Taking our venerable university as an example, the weight, role, and influence of our women are steadily increasing in all spheres and sectors of our educational institution. If we look at the figures, today a total of 1118 women work in the main staff of our university.

Of these, 581 professors and teachers are engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities. 537 female employees work in various positions, actively participating in the process of large-scale transformations being carried out at our university. Today, about 35 thousand students study at our university. It is gratifying that 19,302 of them are girls.

The festive event continued with performances by artists and pop singers beloved by our people.
