Today, March 19, the Department of Russian Linguistics at the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan organized an event dedicated to the holiday of Navruz.

1st-year students of the full-time department of the bachelor’s degree program “Philology and Language Teaching (Russian Language)” actively participated in the event.

In connection with the ancient holiday of spring and renewal, students prepared a bright concert program: they recited poems and performed folk songs. They performed Uzbek and Turkmen dances in national costumes, giving the hall a joyful and festive atmosphere.

Special attention was paid to the traditions of Navruz at the event. Students spoke about the importance of this day, the preparation of traditional dishes such as sumalak, and the customs of welcoming spring.

The event served to strengthen respect for the culture and traditions of the peoples living in Uzbekistan, as well as to create an atmosphere of friendship and unity among students.

The guests of the holiday were Czech students, who were interested in the traditions of Navruz and actively participated in the event.

The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty M. Chorshanbiyev, Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs R. Omonov, Head of the Department of Russian Linguistics V.B. E. Alieva, Head of the Department of Russian Literature S.E. Kamilova, and teachers of the Department of Russian Linguistics.
