An international forum on the topic “Development of Olympism and the Olympic Movement” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan with the participation of the leadership of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT). The event brought together distinguished international and local guests, sports experts, experienced coaches, young athletes, as well as students of the Faculty of Taekwondo and Sports Activities.
Among the participants were President of the World Taekwondo Federation Dr. Chungwon Cho, Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the national Taekwondo Association Sherzod Tashmatov, Vice-Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan for Methodological Support and Quality Control of Education Ravshan Musurmanov, First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work Tunis Khojiyev, as well as Secretary General of the World Taekwondo Federation Seongkang Seo, Vice President Tomas Sithole, and members of the Council.

The proposals and initiatives put forward during the forum were of particular importance as they were aimed at the systematic development of sports, широкое продвижение идей олимпизма, and especially at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people.
The keynote address was delivered by WT President Dr. Chungwon Cho on the topic “Olympism and Peace,” highlighting the role of Olympic principles in strengthening peace, harmony, and mutual respect in society.
The forum also featured insightful presentations on “The Legacy of Sporting Events in Uzbekistan,” “Career Opportunities in International Sport,” and “Sport and Sustainable Development.” Participants exchanged views on current trends in the sports industry, opportunities for international cooperation, and the conditions being created for youth.
At the end of the forum, an open dialogue was held with student-athletes, during which they received comprehensive answers to their questions. Participants also exchanged experiences and reached important agreements aimed at further strengthening cooperation.
The forum marked another important step in promoting the values of Olympism and advancing international sports collaboration.
