At the beginning of the event, organized jointly by the Department of Foreign Language and Literature of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Kitob dunyosi,” poet Khosiyat Rustam, the contribution of the Albanian-American poet, literary critic, and publisher Gekyo Marinay to poetry and world literature was discussed.
A group of professors, teachers, and young researchers from NUUz were awarded the Orpheus Texts Appreciation from Mundus Artium Press, a prestigious publishing house in the United States, for their services in the fields of literature and pedagogy by Gekyo Marinay.
The meeting, held in a spirit of sincere dialogue, laid the foundation for further strengthening friendly relations with Uzbek and world literature and journalism.
Gekyo Marinay was born in Albania in 1965. Since 2001, he has been the chairman of the Albanian-American Writers’ Union and currently a professor at the University of Texas. Gekyo Marinay is the director of Mundus Artium Press, editor of Mundus Artium, a magazine of world literature and art, and chairman of the committee for the international Jenima Prize.
