A group of students from the National University of Uzbekistan traveled to the Arnasoy district of Jizzakh under the slogan “Arnasoy – a place of wonders for geographical tourism and ecotourism” as part of the Youth Tourism Week.
At the beginning of the event, tourism specialists provided detailed information about the geographical features of the Aydar-Arnasoy lake system, the importance and opportunities of geographical tourism and ecotourism.
After that, a field trip was organized with the participation of students. The abrasion process was studied on the shore of the lake, the speed of breeze winds along the lake and on the shore with an anemometer, soil samples were taken using a soil auger, soil temperature and humidity were measured, and other practical exercises were performed.
Field expedition competitions were held on the shore of the lake. Students tested their skills in determining the geographical location of geographical objects using a GPS navigator and drawing a topographic map, setting up a tent as quickly as possible, making tea in the field, and making a fishing rod.
Also, a sapling planting campaign and various cultural, entertainment, and sports events were organized in order to increase green spaces in the region.
