The next meeting of the “Young Biochemists” club was organized at the Faculty of Biology in the form of a seminar

The meeting with the head of the laboratory of the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Plant Biology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Fakhriddin Kushanov was attended by researchers of the Center for Advanced Technologies, scientific staff of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Biology, basic doctoral students, undergraduate and graduate students.

During the seminar, participants were provided with an understanding of the promising direction of modern genetic engineering in the use of the CRISPR-Cas technique for targeted editing of genomes.

In particular, detailed information was provided on the creation of year-round fruit-bearing strawberry varieties, drought-resistant high-yielding cotton and wheat varieties. The seminar was conducted based on interesting questions and answers.
