The year of establishment of the department: 1932
The inorganic chemistry department of the Faculty of Chemistry of UzMU named after M.Ulugbek was established in 1932. Prof. to the department. B. G. Zaprometov was in charge.
During the years 1937-1949, prof. Ye.I.Pozner was in charge. During this time, the department carried out scientific work in two directions:
1) Development of inorganic analysis methods and demonstration of compositional dependence of the properties of the water-salt system. (leader Ye.I. Posner);
2) Chemistry of complex compounds of platinum group elements (leader A.Sh. Shamsiev). During 1949-1958, the department was headed by associate professor A.Sh.Shamsiev. At this time, the department carried out scientific work on the chemistry of coordination compounds.
During 1958-1989, the department was headed by Prof. H.R. Rakhimov. At this time, the department carried out scientific work on the physico-chemical analysis of the water-salt system and the study of complex compounds with ligands containing nitrogen and oxygen elements in the composition of intermediate metals.
During 1989-2010, academician N.A. Parpiev headed the department. During this time, the department is conducting research on the topic “Synthesis and physico-chemical research of coordination compounds of intermediate metals with biologically active multifunctional heterocyclic ligands”.
Taking into account the presence of a large amount of mineral raw material reserves in the territory of Turkestan, the department’s first scientific investigations are devoted to the chemical composition, analysis of physical and chemical properties of local mineral materials, and the research of their processing methods. In this field, prof. V.I. Dulova, prof. Ishankhodzhaeva M.M., associate professors N.I Timokhin, Kh.R. Rakhimov, K.A. Asomov, M. Fayziev, A.G. Muftakhov, assistants Musaeva S.B., Tursunov S., Yulchibaev A.A., Khodjaev O.F., Khamidov Khamidov, Reshetnikova R.V., Kadyrova Sh.A. and others who have made significant contributions.
In 2010-2018, the department was joined by PhD, prof. Kadyrova Sh.A. led by
Since the establishment of the department, 17 doctorates, 43 candidates and 4 PhD theses have been defended.
Currently, 5 main doctoral students (Pirimova M.A., Gapurova L.N., Pardaev O.T., Umrzokova O., Rozieva B.), 1 DSc and 2 PhD independent researchers are preparing and defending doctoral, candidate and master’s theses at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. (Rakhmonova D.S., Esberganova B., Gazieva A.S.) and 35 graduate students are doing research.
More than 40 textbooks, study guides, monographs and methodological manuals have been published by the professors of the department.
The department publishes more than 50 scientific works every year. Since the establishment of the department, patents and copyright certificates have been obtained for about 30 inventions. Certificates were obtained from the intellectual property agency for 2 electronic training manuals. The results of scientific research are being applied to the educational process.
