Requirements for applicants entering postgraduate educational institutions


 

  • Admission to basic doctoral studies and doctoral studies is carried out on a competitive basis by admissions committees established by universities or research institutes in the manner prescribed by law.
  • The selection of applicants for basic doctoral studies is carried out based on the results of entrance examinations, and for doctoral studies – based on the results of interviews. Registration to the Institute of Independent Research is carried out based on the results of the interview.

  • Persons applying for the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in basic doctoral studies or registered as independent researchers must meet the following requirements:
    have a master’s degree or a diploma of clinical residency (for medical sciences) or higher education (according to specialized programs); have certain scientific results that may form the basis of the dissertation research for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), including at least one scientific article published in scientific journals and publications, as well as at least two abstracts in scientific and practical conferences, seminars, collections of scientific works in relevant scientific fields; Persons with at least two years of scientific and pedagogical experience or a specific scientific achievement (patent for an invention or copyright certificate) are registered for independent research to obtain the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
  • Applicants for basic doctoral studies must submit the following documents to the Higher Educational Institution:
    application; a brief biographical certificate; a copy of the work record book, certified in the prescribed manner (for working applicants); a copy of the master’s degree diploma of a higher educational institution or a diploma of completion of clinical residency (for medical sciences), higher education (according to specialty programs); a list of published scientific works, as well as copies thereof. Recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall submit a copy of the relevant document.
  • Admission to doctoral studies is carried out by:
    Persons applying for doctoral studies or registering as independent applicants for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) must meet the following requirements: a degree of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent degrees obtained in foreign countries; possession of at least three scientific articles published in scientific journals that may form the basis of dissertation research for the degree of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), as well as at least two abstracts in collections of scientific works at scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and in relevant scientific fields after obtaining the degree of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
  • Applicants for doctoral studies must submit the following documents to the Higher Educational Institution:
    Application; a brief biographical certificate; a copy of the work record book, certified in the prescribed manner (for working applicants); a copy of the diploma of higher education, a Candidate of Sciences degree or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or an equivalent academic degree in foreign countries; a scientific report on the research topic and a detailed draft of the doctoral dissertation plan prepared for obtaining the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences (DSc); a list of published scientific works, as well as copies thereof.
  • An applicant for independent research shall apply to the Higher Educational Institution or Research Institute with an application, attaching the following documents:
    brief biographical certificate; a copy of the diploma of master’s or clinical residency (for medical sciences) or higher education (according to the specialty program) for registration as an independent applicant for the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD); a copy of the work record book, certified in the prescribed manner; a list of scientific works and a copy thereof; a copy of the diploma of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or other equivalent academic degrees obtained abroad for registration as an independent applicant for the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences (DSc); a description from the place of work.
