Gomel State University delegation at the National University of Uzbekistan

Today, November 11, a delegation from the Gomel State University named after Francisk Skorin (Gomelsky gosudarstvennyi universitet imeni Fransiska Skoriny) of the Republic of Belarus visited the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.

The delegation was headed by Dmitry Leonidovich Kovalenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of this university.

The delegation was welcomed on behalf of the National University of Uzbekistan by Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for International Relations, as well as the deans of the faculties of chemistry and physics and heads of relevant departments.

Cooperation between the parties has been successfully established for many years, and currently the “Uzbekistan-Belarus Joint Scientific Project” is being effectively implemented in cooperation with the faculties of physics and biology.

During the meeting, Professor Dmitry Kovalenko proposed to discuss the further expansion of scientific cooperation between the two universities, in particular, the establishment of a joint scientific laboratory in cooperation with the faculties of physics and chemistry.

During the visit, the heads of the faculty agreed on the next practical steps in this project, the development of scientific research, the establishment of academic mobility programs for professors, teachers and students, the organization of joint conferences and scientific seminars.

At the end of the meeting, both sides noted their interest in bringing scientific cooperation to a new level and strengthening the scientific cooperation “Uzbekistan-Belarus”.
