GPA and Credit Load Requirements in Higher Education (Uzbekistan)

In accordance with the credit-module system implemented in Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions, the GPA (Grade Point Average) is used to evaluate a student’s academic performance. It is calculated using the weighted average of grades earned across all subjects, with each subject’s credit value taken into account.

Credit Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree:
    • Students are required to earn 30 credits per semester, totaling 60 credits per academic year.
    • Over the full study period:
  • 3-year programs require 180 credits
  • 4-year programs require 240 credits
  • Master’s Degree:
    • Students must earn 60 credits per semester, totaling 120 credits per academic year.
    • This applies to 2-year Master’s programs.

These credit requirements align with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, supporting academic transparency, mobility, and international comparability.
