The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Greece in Tashkent P. Tsevelik visited the National University of Uzbekistan and held a meeting with the university leadership and historians.
At the meeting organized at the Faculty of History of the university, the Ambassador was welcomed by Vice-Rector for International Relations K. Inakov, Head of the International Relations Department J. Madatov, Academician A. Sagdullayev, and Head of the Department of Archaeology F. Ochildiyev.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation in the field of education and science, in particular, joint research in the fields of history and archaeology, exchange of scientific experience, and expansion of academic ties.
Also, at the meeting, the Ambassador put forward the initiative to organize a joint symposium or scientific conference with the participation of historians and archaeologists from higher educational institutions of Central Asia and Greece. The parties highly appreciated the scientific and practical significance of this proposal.

The possibilities of implementing international programs, scientific conferences and cultural exchange projects for students and professors were also discussed.
At the end of the visit, the Ambassador got acquainted with the museum operating at the Faculty of History. The unique archaeological finds and historical exhibits stored there aroused great interest among the guest.
This visit was recognized as one of the important steps towards strengthening educational, scientific and cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Greece.
