The Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization at the National University of Malaysia Visits the National University of Uzbekistan

On July 9, 2023, during the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign observers from various countries visited to monitor the elections. Among these foreign observers was Fariza MD Sham, the Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization attached to the National University of Malaysia, and her spouse Edxan Bin Abdul Rasid. They visited the 710th polling station together with Raima Shirinova, the Vice-Rector for International Relations at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.

Mrs. Fariza MD Sham also visited the Chingiz Aitmatov museum at the National University of Uzbekistan, where she became acquainted with the writer’s history and manuscripts. Additionally, she left her wishes in the museum’s book of honorary guests.

Raima Shirinova, the Vice-Rector for International Relations at the National University of Uzbekistan, invited Mrs. Fariza MD Sham and her spouse to the international relations department and discussed the university’s international achievements and future plans.

Fariza MD Sham, the Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilisation at the National University of Malaysia, expressed her readiness to collaborate with the National University of Uzbekistan and expressed the desire to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two universities by the end of 2023.
