Practical Review Conducted at the Military Training Center of the National University of Uzbekistan

In accordance with the 2026 work plan of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Defense and Security is conducting a review of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Universal Military Obligation and Military Service,” particularly the provisions related to the training of reserve officers in higher education institutions in the city of Tashkent.

On March 16 of this year, a working group led by the Committee Chairman Qutbiddin Burxonov, including representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Military Prosecutor’s Office, as well as industry experts, visited National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek and became acquainted with the activities of the university’s Military Training Center.

During the visit, particular attention was paid to the system of training reserve officers at the National University of Uzbekistan, the organization of the military training process, and its effectiveness. Specifically, the student selection system, their skills in handling weapons and military equipment, as well as training sessions aimed at improving physical and tactical readiness were thoroughly reviewed.

In addition, members of the working group focused on ensuring coherence between academic positions and military staff units in forming the staffing structure of military education divisions, as well as the level of provision of educational, material, and technical resources.

As a result of the review, relevant proposals and recommendations were developed to enhance the quality of military training, improve the educational process, and strengthen the practical application of theoretical knowledge.
