Cooperation between the National University of Uzbekistan and Italian universities is reaching a new level



On April 25, Samarkand State University hosted a round table on the topic “Uzbekistan and Italy: new horizons of cooperation.” The event was attended by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture, the embassies of the two countries, as well as leading higher education institutions.

The event was attended by 17 rectors and vice-rectors of universities from Uzbekistan and 7 from Italy. A number of important documents have been signed between the higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Italy.

Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan Inom Majidov, within the framework of the Uzbek-Italian educational forum, made a report on the existence of cooperation agreements with universities such as Milano Bikokko, Ka Foskari, and Tuscia, and that a number of effective contacts have been established with Italian universities today.

In particular, a joint diploma program with the University of Tuscia in the field of Archeology for the 2025-2026 academic year.;

The International summer Youth School “GEM and the Great Silk Road 2025“, which will be held from June 23 to 27 this year in collaboration with Ka Foskari and the University of Milano Bikokko;

Practical project “Remote control of energy supply and water supply in Uzbekistan” (Uzbekistan Remote water and access to Energy) in cooperation with the Universities of Milano Bikokko and Ka Foskari;

During the international round table on ”Uzbekistan and Italy: new horizons of cooperation“, agreements were reached with Ka Foskari University to establish a joint diploma program in Applied Chemistry in the 2026-2027 academic year.
