Today, April 6, the National University of Uzbekistan hosted the official opening ceremony of the “New Uzbekistan Student Olympiad” sports competitions.
The event was attended by the university’s rector, Inom Madjidov, who delivered a speech. He highlighted the importance and objectives of the Olympiad and called on all students to participate actively.

It was particularly emphasized that raising a healthy and well-rounded younger generation is one of the priority directions of the country’s policy. It was also noted that the Olympiad would further increase interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle not only among students but also among the wider public.
According to the rector, the competition will contribute to the development of mass sports among students, create favorable conditions for them, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Confidence was also expressed that this initiative will unite millions of young people in the future.

All stages of the competition will be monitored through the Ministry of Sports’ unified electronic management system “ERP-sport.”
To date, a total of 168 higher education institutions have registered in the system to participate in the competition, including 92 public, 52 private, and 24 foreign universities.
The total number of students who have expressed their willingness to participate has reached 159,273.

The competitions will be held in three stages:
• Stage 1: April 6–20
• Stage 2: May 1–15
• Final stage: June 1–10, to be held at the Olympic Village in Tashkent.
The multi-sport competitions will include volleyball, handball, 3×3 basketball, table tennis, football, athletics, and swimming (swimming events will begin from the second stage).
