Today, December 6, the Faculty of Geography and Geographic Information Systems of the National University of Uzbekistan held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “The current state and prospects for the development of geodesy, cartography and cadastre in Uzbekistan.”
The conference, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the “Sphere of Pride” badge holder, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Khamidkhon Muborakov, was attended by leading scientists and specialists from 10 foreign countries.
The conference participants discussed the results, current problems and prospective directions of geodetic and cartographic research of various scales conducted in the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign countries, and also exchanged experience.
In particular, current theoretical, methodological and practical problems of modern geodesy, cartography, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and state cadastres were discussed. The importance, possibilities and prospects of cooperation between Uzbek and foreign scientists in solving these problems were identified.
Within the framework of the international conference, scientific and practical experience was exchanged, necessary recommendations were developed for improving the scientific and methodological foundations of geodetic and cartographic research, as well as for the practice of this field.
