The “Fujayra Open – 2025” Taekwondo WT G2 category competition was held in Fujayra, United Arab Emirates. Yesterday, the competitions between men and women ended.
A group of our taekwondo athletes defended the honor of our country and won 9 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze).
It is gratifying that Jasurbek Jaysunov and Svetlana Osipova, master’s students of the Faculty of Taekwondo and Sports Activities of the National University of Uzbekistan, became the absolute winners of the tournament and won 2 gold medals.
In the women’s competition, Svetlana Osipova (+73 kg) won gold, Madina Shoniyozova (46 kg), Zuhra Tojimatova (46 kg), Laylo Hasanova (49 kg), Shabbona Abduvaliyeva (57 kg), and Ozoda Sobirjonova (67 kg) won bronze medals.
In the men’s competitions of this prestigious tournament, Jasurbek Jaysunov, competing in the weight category up to 80 kilograms, defeated all his opponents and became the gold medalist, while Najmiddin Kasimhodzhiev won silver, and Yodgorbek Juraboev (74 kg.) won bronze.
Thus, the Fujayra Open – 2025 tournament concluded successfully for Uzbek taekwondo athletes. In total, our national team finished the competition in the top three with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
