From August 1 to 8 of this year, the 25th World Congress of Philosophy was held at Sapienza University in Rome, Italy (ranked 135th in the world), under the theme “Philosophy Across Boundaries”.
The congress gathered more than 5,000 scholars, including 1,250 young researchers and students from 130 countries around the world. For the first time, 15 scholars and faculty members from various higher education institutions of Uzbekistan participated in this prestigious event.
Among them were professors from the National University of Uzbekistan — Nigina Shermuhamedova and Nasiba Abdullayeva, as well as PhD candidates Mustafo Khidirov and Javlonbek Qodirov — who delivered presentations in various sections of the congress.
Notably, for the first time in the history of the congress, an Uzbek scholar — Professor Nigina Shermuhamedova — was elected chair of 82 sections and a special “Round Table” session.
During the discussion, various proposals were voiced by the participants. Many European experts emphasized their growing interest in studying the history and contemporary developments of Uzbekistan.
