On February 26-27 this year, a Media School for journalists, bloggers and young professionals was organized in the city of Tashkent. In this training, students of the Faculty of Jurisprudence of Uzbek University Abdiyeva Delfuza and Turanov Diorbek took an active part in order to exchange experience with young journalists-bloggers and among 27 specialists were awarded with a special certificate of the Ambassador of the European Union in Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony of the school was attended by European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar and the executive director of the “Yuksalish” movement Askar Mamathanov.
This project was conducted within the framework of the program “Media education and fact-checking: development of critical thinking and information literacy” with the financial support of the European Union.
During this prestigious project young people were presented by Beruniy Alimov, Associate Professor of the Department of “Information Service and Public Relations” of the Uzekistan State University of World Languages, as well as by Jakub Jean Sliz, President of the Polish non-governmental organization Stowarzyszenie Pravda, member of the International Fact Checking Network (IFCN) and representative of the fact checking community of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).
