Today, on November 14, the staff, faculty members, and students of the National University of Uzbekistan visited the “Memory of Martyrs” memorial complex and the State Museum of Memory of Victims of Repression in the capital.

The visit began with a round-table discussion held in front of the museum building with the participation of students. During the meeting, the First Vice-Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Jabbor Muhammadiyev, Deputy Director of the museum, Yusuf Ashurov, and the museum’s Chief Researcher, Bakhtiyor Murodov, spoke about the hardships of the repression years, the bravery of the devoted sons of the homeland, and the significance of the event.

Afterwards, the students explored the historical documents, personal belongings, photographs, and other exhibits preserved in the memorial complex and the museum. These exhibits serve as clear and vivid evidence of one of the most painful periods in our country’s history — the years of repression.

The visit left a profound impression on the youth not only academically, but also spiritually. This trip further strengthened their appreciation of national memory and their sense of loyalty to the Motherland.
