Within the framework of the “Quantum Week,” events were organized at NUUz

On December 14, at the National University of Uzbekistan, on the initiative of the State Corporation “Rosatom” of the Russian Federation and the Russian Quantum Center, an event was organized within the framework of the “Quantum Week in Uzbekistan” in cooperation with the Faculty of Physics.

It was attended by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovation of NUUz Yakub Ergashov, Professor of the University of Texas Anvar Zohidov, General Director of the Russian Quantum Center Maxim Ostras, Head of the Scientific Group Dmitry Chermoshensev, as well as professors, doctoral students and students of the university.

The main goal of the event was to promote natural sciences in the field of quantum computing and technology.

Lectures by industry specialists on the topics “Quantum Sensors for Studying the Human Brain” and “Quantum Technologies: Responses to New Challenges” were heard.

After the event, a meeting was held at the Physics Faculty with the participation of specialists from the S.Kh.Sirojiddinov Academic Lyceum at the National University of Uzbekistan and the Academic Lyceum at the Tashkent State Technical University.

Students were provided with information about the fundamentals of quantum mechanics and technology. Students conducted interesting experiments using a laser table to guide photons from one point to another using a quantum-based detector device.

After that, a competition on “quantum entanglement” was organized among the students. The winners and active participants were awarded memorable gifts from the state corporation “Rosatom.”
