An open dialogue with young people was held within the framework of the “Ombudsman School” project at NUUz

On November 12, 2024, an event was organized at the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan as part of the “Ombudsman School” project.

The open dialogue with students was attended by representatives of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman), the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Agency for Youth Affairs, professors and teachers of the Tashkent State Law University and the media.

During the open dialogue, it was noted that the appeals and suggestions and recommendations of young people to the Ombudsman are relevant. It was also noted that the “Ombudsman clubs” created in higher educational institutions allow young people to strengthen their theoretical knowledge in practice, actively participate in the study of the problems of the population, and these clubs serve to shape students as mature specialists by teaching them to approach problems with responsibility.

At the event, issues of ensuring the rights, freedoms and interests of young people, promoting their active participation in the life of society and the state were discussed. The legal framework for strengthening the active role of youth in education, social protection, labor rights, and combating corruption was also explained.

At the meeting, which was held in the form of an open dialogue with more than 100 young people, issues raised in the appeals sent to the Ombudsman by young people were also discussed. At the event, which was held in a rich manner of mutual questions and answers, students gained a lot of knowledge about ensuring the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of young people in Uzbekistan and the activities of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
