The Department of Russian Literary Criticism has a long history of development, accumulation and implementation of scientific experience. Today, the department is an integral part of the Philological School of Uzbekistan, most of the literary traditions of which were laid down by the teaching staff of the Department of Russian Literary Criticism at NUUz (formerly TashSU). The productivity of research activities is determined by the phased implementation of the program of scientific continuity and the program for the implementation of the results of research activities in the educational process of universities in the republic.
It should be noted the steady interest of the teaching staff of the Department of Russian Literary Criticism in individual research activities and the transfer of scientific experience. This activity contributed to the fact that over the past decades, several scientific schools have been formed associated with the study of the literary process, the problems of comparative studies, hermeneutics, and translation studies. The second direction is the introduction of the results of research activities of professorial and teaching activities in the educational process of universities in the republic and, more broadly, in the system of higher and secondary specialized education.
For many decades, the department has been the developer of State standards in the republic; teachers are part of the working group and are the initiators of introducing new scientific ideas, concepts and disciplines into the educational process.
The teaching staff of the department conducts active research activities, which are implemented in several directions. The scientific priorities of the department are determined by the department’s scientific topics, as well as individual scientific topics. Every year, the faculty of the department publishes more than 70 articles in international journals, scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission, in collections of international and republican conferences.
Individual research activities are reflected in monographs. In 2021, the department’s collective released an international monograph, which included concepts and developments relevant to modern literary studies related to the laws of the development of the literary process at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries. The issue of monographic research is a traditional form of summing up the results of research activities for the department.
The publication of monographs significantly strengthens the position of the literary school of the republic, forming priorities at the present stage of development. Over the past ten years, monographs by A.N. Davshan (“Asia in Russian literature of the twentieth century”, “The work of Mikhail Prishvin in the context of world literature”), S.E. Kamilova (“Contemporary story: meaningful vectors and narrative strategies”), O. N. Gibraltar (“Change of the system of artistic coordinates: from prose to drama”), E.M. Kaminskaya (“Poetics of Prose by S. P. Borodin”, “Poetics of Prose by S. P. Borodin. Text. Context. Metatext”), D.А. Khatamova (“Problems of identification and identification in literary terms “),Alimova N.Kh. (Poetics of American prose of the last third of the XX century “). The activities of the Department of Russian Literary Criticism are aimed at the formation of a new model of professional education, taking into account international experience and individual specifics of development
