Today, February 7, a meeting of the rector and students took place at the National University of Uzbekistan. The rector of the university, Professor Inom Madjidov, held an open dialogue with the students and listened to their opinions and suggestions.
During the conversation, the rector spoke about the reform of the higher education system in our country, bringing teaching to the level of international requirements, training qualified specialists, creating all conditions for students to study, live, conduct scientific research, realize their talents and potential, and spend their free time meaningfully, as well as about the results of reforms in the education system.
During the meeting, proposals were made to support active and proactive students, meaningfully organize their free time, involve them more widely in scientific activities, improve practical opportunities, and audio books for visually impaired students. Students also addressed a number of questions regarding exchange programs with foreign universities and the use of new technologies.
In particular, Nilufar Ergasheva, a student of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology, proposed the introduction of a rector’s scholarship for active and talented students, as well as the compilation and publication of a poetry collection for creative youth.
The Rector answered the students’ questions in detail and gave instructions to the relevant departments to resolve most of the issues raised. The university leadership also emphasized that the initiative and innovative thinking of young people are important for the development of the university.
At the end of the event, gratitude was expressed to the active students, and it was decided that such open dialogues will continue to be held regularly in the future.
