Russian Russian Linguistics Department of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology held a traditional International scientific and practical conference “Actual problems of Russian word formation” within the framework of the Uzbek Scientific School of Russian Word Formation at the National University of Uzbekistan on January 18, 2025.

The conference was organized and moderated by the Acting Head of the Department of Russian Linguistics, Doctor of Philology E.A. Aliyeva. The conference was opened by Vice-rector for Science and Innovation of NUUz Ergashov E.S. The conference was co-founded by the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V.Lomonosov (Russia) and the University of Bamberg.Otto Friedrich (Germany).

Representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan and the Russian Cultural Center made welcoming remarks. Prominent scientists and teachers from Uzbekistan, Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Kazakhstan participated in the discussion of Russian word formation.

In the work of the International Conference, the aspects of word formation were considered in diachronic terms, at the present stage, based on the materials of dictionaries and literary texts. The conference made it possible to outline new ways of cooperation between domestic and foreign scientists.
