During the visit of the delegation of the National University of Uzbekistan, headed by Inom Madjidov, to Sweden, a number of meetings were held aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education and research.

The next round of negotiations was held with Dr. Andreas Götenberg, Executive Director of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT).

At the meeting, issues such as supporting international research projects, expanding academic mobility, developing scientific cooperation between universities of Sweden and Uzbekistan, and conducting scientific research by young researchers and doctoral students under the leadership of Swedish scientists were discussed.

In particular, the importance of conducting research dedicated to the scientific solution of existing global problems in several areas of the Sustainable Development Goals, such as sustainable energy, clean water, climate action, gender equality, and social equality, was emphasized.

The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) is a foundation established to support and develop international cooperation in higher education and research. STINT promotes the development of knowledge and competencies within the framework of internationalization and invests in internationalization projects proposed by researchers, teachers, and leaders of Swedish universities.
