The “Young Biochemists” Club of the Department of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of the National University of Uzbekistan and the “NUU Public Talks” Club of the Department of Strategic Development and International Ratings organized an international webinar on the topic “The role of artificial intelligence in the discovery of drugs.”
Erkin Kurganov, a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University, a member of the Society of Neurology, Physiology and Biophysics of Japan and the USA, PhD, delivered a speech at the webinar.
It was attended by professors, students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology, as well as universities, schools and organizations operating in cooperation with the Department of Biochemistry.
In particular, the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, the Center for Advanced Technologies, AKFA University, the Academic Lyceum of Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, the Academic Lyceum of Tashkent Technical University, the Academic Lyceum named after Sirojiddinov, and a number of schoolchildren participated.
During the webinar, information was provided about the process of creating drugs, its stages, difficulties, as well as about giant companies engaged in drug production.
Artificial intelligence, its emergence, and its advantages for humanity were discussed, including the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research and the role of artificial intelligence in the production of modern drugs.
