Nuritdinov Salakhutdin Nasritdinovich was born on November 28, 1948, in Tashkent. In 1971, he graduated from Saint Petersburg State University (formerly Leningrad State University, Russia). From 1971 to 1972, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant and trainee researcher at the Astronomy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. From 1972 to 1975, he was a postgraduate student (aspirant) at the Astronomical Observatory of Saint Petersburg State University. From 1975 to 1981, he worked as a research scientist at the Astronomy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Between 1981 and 1987, he served as a senior lecturer and associate professor at the Faculty of Physics of Tashkent State University. From 1987 to 1993, he was the Head of the Department of Astronomy at Tashkent State University. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as Deputy Director of the Higher Pedagogical Institute under Tashkent State University. From 1996 to 2007, he served as Head of the Department of Astronomy at National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek (formerly Tashkent State University). From 2001 to 2010, he was Deputy Head of a laboratory at the Astronomy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (part-time). From 2010 to 2012, he was Head of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the National University of Uzbekistan. From 2012 to 2013, he headed the Department of Astronomy and Atmospheric Physics. From 2013 to 2017, he worked as Professor of this department, and from 2017 to 2021, he again served as Head of the Department. In 2016, he established the Scientific Laboratory “Astrophysical Research” at the Faculty of Physics. From 2021 to 2024, he worked as Professor of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Since 2025 to the present, he has been working as Professor of the Department of Nuclear Physics and Astronomy. Professor S.N. Nuritdinov is the author of 4 monographs, 2 textbooks, 6 teaching manuals, a number of methodological guides, and more than 250 scientific articles. He has also served as the principal investigator of more than 10 fundamental, 2 international, and 2 applied research grants. As a scientific supervisor, S.N. Nuritdinov has trained more than 20 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) and about 10 Doctors of Science (DSc).
