Mavluda Abdukarimovna Zakhidova is a specializing in laser physics and resonance heterogeneous processes. She graduated with honors in 1978 from the Faculty of Physics, Department of Radiophysics, at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek).
From 1979 to 1986, she conducted research at the Institute of General Physics (IOFAN), Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Academician A.M. Prokhorov. During this period, she completed her postgraduate studies and defended her PhD dissertation entitled “Resonant Effect of Laser Radiation on Bromine Molecules Adsorbed on a Glass Surface,” earning the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PhD in Physics and Mathematics).
In 2024, she successfully defended her Doctor of Science (DSc) dissertation at the Institute of Ion-Plasma and Laser Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Her doctoral research, “Raman Spectroscopy of the Interaction of Neutral Atoms and Molecules with the Surface of Transparent Solids,” further advanced the understanding of laser-induced surface processes.
Professor Zakhidova’s primary research focus is the study of resonant heterogeneous processes under laser irradiation, including laser–matter interaction, surface spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy of solid-state systems.
She has actively participated in numerous international scientific programs and research grants, including:
Professor Zakhidova has enhanced her scientific and pedagogical expertise at leading international institutions:
Professor Zakhidova is the author of more than 70 scientific publications in reputable international journals and scientific proceedings. She has authored 2 textbooks and 8 teaching manuals and has presented her research at numerous prestigious international conferences.
Since 1989, she has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Physics, National University of Uzbekistan, where she continues her scientific and pedagogical work, contributing significantly to the education and mentoring of young physicists.
In addition to her academic duties, she has long served as Chairperson of the Faculty Trade Union Committee and as Chairperson of the University Women Scientists Association “Olima,” actively supporting academic community development and gender equity in science.
