Today, August 13, the rector of the National University of Uzbekistan Inom Madjidov received members of a delegation led by the President of Hohai University of the People’s Republic of China, Zheng Jinhai.
At the beginning of the meeting, information was provided about the activities, directions and achievements of both universities. Hohai University is one of the leading higher educational institutions in China in the field of hydraulic engineering and water resources management.
During the negotiations, President of Hohai University Zheng Jinhai proposed to establish wide-ranging cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan. In particular, areas such as student exchange, cooperation within the framework of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Hydrological Program (IHP), exchange of professors, teachers and researchers, implementation of advanced training and internship programs were discussed.
Rector Inom Madjidov supported the proposals of the head of Hohhai University, noting the possibility of establishing practical cooperation based on his advanced experience in hydropower, water structures and water-related areas.
It was also noted that there are opportunities to organize student exchanges within the framework of master’s and PhD programs that serve the interests of both parties and to increase the interest of Hohhai University students in the activities of the National University of Uzbekistan.

Mr. Zheng Jinhai invited representatives of the host university to the celebration of the 110th anniversary of Hohhai University, which will be held in October.

As part of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two sides. After that, the parties presented each other with souvenirs representing national and university symbols.
