HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF UZBEKISTAN ON THE GLORIOUS 34TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR COUNTRY’S INDEPENDENCE

Dear Professors and Colleagues of Our University,

I sincerely congratulate you on a truly special and sacred occasion — the 34th Anniversary of the Independence of our Homeland!

May peace and stability always prevail in our country. May our people live in prosperity, and may our children grow up happy, successful, and fulfilled.

Independence, above all, means national development, the freedom of our people, and the revival of our cherished cultural and spiritual values. Today, our beloved country celebrates this significant date with great enthusiasm and high spirits. Under the noble motto “For the Homeland, for the Nation, for the People!” — large-scale reforms, progress, and transformation continue across all sectors of society, including in science and education.

In particular, the extensive reforms in higher education — aimed at improving the quality of instruction, advancing science and innovation, and strengthening international cooperation — play a vital role in shaping our youth, the future of our nation.
As our esteemed President has emphasized:
“Knowledge, science, and innovation must become the main drivers of our country’s progress.”

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our academic community — to all professors and teaching staff — who are tirelessly dedicated to their pedagogical and scientific work, striving with sincerity and commitment in pursuit of noble goals.
The recent achievements of our university, its growing international recognition, and high rankings in global academic evaluations are the direct result of your devoted work, professionalism, and sense of responsibility.

With more than a century of history, our university — a true pillar of science and enlightenment — is confidently moving toward securing its place among the world’s leading institutions. And it is your hard work, initiative, and determined pursuit of lofty goals that are the key to this success.

Your dedicated service for the prosperity of our nation and the future of our people is truly admirable and worthy of the highest praise.

May the Independence Day of our dear Homeland bring you joy, inspiration, and renewed confidence in the future!

With respect,
Inom Majidov
Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan
