Today, June 19th, the prestigious analytical agency QS World University Rankings released its ranking of the world’s best universities for 2026. This ranking evaluates world universities based on indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, citations, scientific collaboration, the number of international students and faculty, sustainability, and the student-to-faculty ratio.
According to this ranking, NUUz placed 721-730th globally, advancing 50 positions (from 781-790) compared to the previous year. This result demonstrates the university’s steady progress despite the sharp increase in global competition.
Additionally, yesterday, June 18, the results of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings were announced. The National University of Uzbekistan ranked 201-300 among the world’s best universities across 6 Sustainable Development Goals.
Most notably, NUUz has achieved a remarkable success in this year’s Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, climbing 400-500 positions compared to last year’s 601-800 place ranking.
Today, a ceremonial event was held to celebrate the National University of Uzbekistan’s historic achievements in the country’s higher education system and its high rankings in the prestigious QS and THE ratings.
The event was attended by esteemed guests, scientists and public figures, representatives from various ministries and departments, university staff, as well as members of the mass media.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Inom Madjidov, who congratulated the team on the new results. Also, the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Daliev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Minhojiddin Mirzo, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, renowned mathematician Shavkat Alimov, Professor of the University of Hawaii Dilmurod Azimov and others spoke and conveyed their congratulations.
In this year’s ranking, NUUz recorded positive results in several important indicators: 200th place in the International faculty ratio. Reputation among employers (Employer reputation): in this direction, the university rose 185 positions and took 355th place. This result indicates a growing demand and trust in graduates of the National University of Uzbekistan. In the indicator of academic reputation (Academic reputation), NUUz took 412th place. Employment outcomes: the university ranked 545, rising 14 places on this indicator.
In recent years, the National University of Uzbekistan has set its own strategy and is making rapid strides to become one of the TOP 500 universities in the international ranking.
