Nuu Public talks 4.0: the role of public speaking in sustainable development



On December 16, 2024 at the National University of Uzbekistan within the framework of the project “NUU public talks” a seminar on the role of public speaking in sustainable development was held by Nargis Aktamova, a student of the Uzbek State University of World Languages.

During the event, the role of public speaking in society and its contribution to sustainable development was discussed in detail. It was noted that public speaking serves not only for personal development, but also for building collective trust and addressing important social issues.

“Public speaking is not only the art of communication, but also an essential skill for solving problems in society and building a sustainable future“ – Aktamova Nargis.”

The participants of the event shared valuable tips on how to master public speaking, communicate effectively with the audience and build a persuasive speech.

Attention was also paid to the main problems we face in the process of developing speaking skills, such as insecurity, social barriers and lack of experience. Practical methods and techniques were proposed to overcome these problems.

The “NuuU Public talks” project of Alijon Aripov, a specialist of the Department of Strategic Development and International Ratings of Uzgu, is aimed at promoting sustainable development goals, encouraging young people to take an active part in global issues and developing public speaking and critical thinking skills.

During the event, participants were able to explore the topic in depth through Q&A and share their experiences. At the end of the event, practical exercises were also conducted. The participants tested their speech skills and received practical advice on public speaking styles.
